The night was approaching when I arrived in Tjornuvík, a tiny village in a fjord on the Faroe Islands. I sat by the beach and admired the sea stacks in the distance. A legend tells that the giants of Iceland became mad, because they hated the fact that the Faroe Islands are separated from Iceland. So they sent Risin and Kellingin, a giant and his wife down to the Faroe Islands to bring them back. They struggled throughout the night to drag the Faroe Islands to Iceland with the help of a large rope. They were not successful and didn't notice time passing, and as dawn broke a shaft of sunlight put a stop to their efforts by turning them to stone on the spot. They have stood there ever since, staring longingly across the ocean towards Iceland.

The main colours of this photograph are black, blue, white and grey. It fits in any room and especially well as a stark contrast to bright interiors.
